You Must Make This One-of-a-Kind Pilgrimage for St. Athanaius

I must confess: I had never heard of St. Athanasius before researching and writing this blog post. Now that I know who he is, however, I am so excited to share more about him and the perfect place to go to make a pilgrimage to this great man of God.

St. Athanasius was a 4th-century bishop and theologian known for vigorously defending the faith during a time of great controversy in the Church. Born around 296 AD in Alexandria, Egypt, he became a deacon and secretary to the Bishop of Alexandria and played a key role at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, where the Church formally rejected the Arian heresy, denying Christ's divinity.

Athanasius later became Bishop of Alexandria and spent much of his life defending the Nicene Creed. He even endured multiple exiles due to his opposition to Arianism. Recognized as a Doctor of the Church, St. Athanasius is a perfect model of the faith, making him a saint that all Catholics should know.

In honor of his Feast Day on May 2nd, we invite you to make a pilgrimage to St. Athanasius at this stunning Catholic parish:
