Pray and Reflect With St. George at This Peaceful Midwest Retreat

Everyone knows St. George as the slayer of dragons, but there is even more to know and love about this great man of God, whose feast day just so happens to be coming up on April 23rd.

St. George was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr who lived in modern-day Turkey during the late 3rd and early 4th centuries and served in the Roman army under Emperor Diocletian.

When Diocletian launched a brutal persecution of Christians, George refused to renounce his faith and was ultimately executed around 303 AD. Though he is best known for the legendary tale of slaying a dragon (symbolizing the triumph of good over evil), his true legacy is an unwavering commitment to Christ.

In honor of St. George - the patron saint of soldiers, England, and several other countries - we invite you to make a pilgrimage to him right here in the U.S.:

Welcome to the Our Lady of the Fields Camp and Retreat Center!
